Code of Conduct

Preamble

The 333rd is one of the most respected Allied squads in World War II On-Line – and we want to keep it that way. You earn the respect of your peers by being trustworthy, honest, loyal, hard working and generous. The following rules of conduct for the 333rd will hopefully ensure we maintain the respect of our fellow gamers.

If you find that you cannot abide by the simple rules below, we strongly suggest that you acknowledge such and perhaps look for a different squad to join. We don’t believe there are any onerous requirements to stay in good standing in the 333rd.

Rules

All 333rd squad members will:

1. Treat ALL players with respect, in or out of the game. Fighting with others in text chat, in forums or other correspondence will not be tolerated. If you have a problem with another player, contact your OIC and have them handle the problem.

2. You will check in on the squad channel EVERY TIME you log into the game.

3. Participate in squad activities when you are in game and update your fellow Squadmates and Officers as you enter the battlefield on your playing status. All 333rd members have the freedom to do activities away from the squad as long as they check in with the OIC and let that person know what they will be doing. If the OIC requires your presence back with the squad, you will respond and return to squad activities as soon as you finish your current mission. Lonewolfing without permission is not acceptable.

4. Please keep up to date on squad news, plans and events. Spend five minutes before you jump into the game taking a quick look at the squad forums to check for orders, announcements and operations.

5. You are encouraged to use TeamSpeak 2 (it’s a free program) and tune to the 333rd voice communications channel. The protocol for acquiring and setting up TS is in the 333rd secure forum. Battle communication is key in game and by using TeamSpeak, it enhances effective team work, coordination, battle tactics, strategy and squad camaraderie.

6. Understand the squad structure and the squad chain of command.

7. Understand that the 333rd is a loyal unit in the AHC – you will follow orders from AHC officers as long as they don’t run counter to your squad orders. You will focus the majority of your playing in the 333rd’s AHC assigned area of operation.

8. Follow the orders of the OIC. If you don’t agree with the OIC’s orders, do not question them on open channel, use a pm. Ultimately, you are responsible for following the order, whether you like it or not. If you have a recurring problem with the OIC’s decisions, you will contact one the squad’s commanding officers and the matter will be resolved.

9. Never cheat, hack or exploit in the game. Clipping, speed hacking, griefing and spying are all grounds for immediate dismissal from the squad.

10. Commit to predominately playing Allied. Experiencing the Axis side of the game with an occasional campaign as German is allowed as long as you state your intent to do so in the Secure Forum and make sure the squad CO or XO knows. It is expected that you will spend the entire campaign as Axis, if you choose to sideswitch, thus your Secure Forum privileges will be revoked while you are Axis. You will still have access to the Open Forums. Anybody abusing the squad’s trust by using information gained through your affiliation with the 333rd to unfairly gain advantage vs. the 333rd or Allied units in-game will be subject to the squad member removal protocol.

11. Squad member removal protocol: Should a member be caught in violation of the code of conduct, a judgment call will need to be made by the highest ranking officer online at the time. If the action is so grievous as to require immediate action, the member in question may immediately be put on suspension by having his/her status changed to inactive on the squad roster. This will not be a binding decision regarding the fate of that member. As soon as possible, a CO and at least one other officer will review the facts and hear arguments from both sides. At that time, a decision will be made regarding the member in question.

11.1. Actions that are deemed grievous enough to warrant immediate suspension should be limited to violations related to Articles 10 and 11. Excessive violation of Article 1, verbal abuse, also qualifies for immediate suspension. Screenshots required for Article 1 violations.

11.2. Officer protocol for taking action: All communication with the accused should be over PM, and clearly list the alleged violations along with informing them of the suspension. As soon as possible, a report should be filed via pm to the commanding officers. The report should list clearly and completely all evidence, witnesses, and circumstances surrounding the situation.

11.3. Abuse of this power will result in a review of the abusing officer. If, after review by the squad's officers, a majority of the officers believe the actions taken by the dismissing officer were not justified, the dismissing officer will have his/her roster adding/deleting privileges revoked and they will lose one rank in the squad chain of command.

12. HAVE FUN and KILL GERMANS.

Non-compliance with any of the above rules can, and most likely will, result in expulsion from the 333rd.Final decisions on squad dismissals will be made by the squad COs after the offending party has been given an opportunity to explain himself/herself.
